Ashbourne combines many historical buildings, which gives the street a medieval feeling to it. Due to being situated on the lovely southern side of this area, there are many visitors who come to experience the scenic views, which give you a sense of something magical within this quaint town dating back to the 18th century.

With mellow town houses, and resplendent coaching inns, there is a truly unique atmosphere about this small town. Taking a stroll along the main street, you will come across historic almshouses and the 16th century old Grammar School. On a beautiful day, you can also take a walk along the Heritage Trail which takes you around the town.
If after this you require a little liquid refreshment, call in at one of the traditional tearooms, and taste some of their home made food, and a pot of tea. Truly scrumptious.
Whilst walking around, you may like to browse in some of the local shops. Outside of the town, there are farms to stay at, or privately run guest houses; some dating back to the 19th century. What ever the choice, there will always be something to suit everyone, whilst exploring this lovely town and the area around.
